Earth system science and HPC: iCAS Symposium 2024
International experts from the fields of geosciences, data handling and supercomputing, among them a team from DKRZ, met from September 8th to 12th, 2024 in Stresa, Italy, for the international symposium "Computing in the Atmospheric Sciences" (iCAS) to discuss new developments in climate and earth system modeling in light of the changing supercomputer landscape.
Energy efficiency of HPC centers: US delegation visits DKRZ
The Federal Foreign Office, jointly with the Goethe-Institut, have invited a bipartisan delegation of legislators and energy committee chairs from various US states to Germany for an information tour “Energy Policy in Germany” in order to promote transatlantic exchange on energy policy.
ESiWACE3-WarmWorld summer school on the use of HPC for climate and weather applications
From 27th August to 2nd September 2024, 17 international students met with lecturers from the Finnish CSC, the University of Helsinki and DKRZ (Dr. Claudia Frauen and Dr. Florian Ziemen) to learn more about the use of high-performance computing for climate and weather applications during a week-long summer school supported and organized by the projects ESiWACE3 and WarmWorld.
