The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) continues to evolve towards an open and trusted environment for accessing and managing a wide range of publicly funded research data and related services.

On June 1, 2022, the FAIRCORE4EOSC three-year project started as a part of the EOSC implementation phase (planned for 2021-2027). FAIRCORE4EOSC will develop a set of nine EOSC-Core components. These include an EOSC PID and an EOSC research software infrastructure, as well as components for sharing or linking different metadata schemas and research-oriented search services for all EOSC repositories.

Coordinated by the Finnish IT Center for Science (CSC), the project involves 22 partners from service providers, research institutions and global expert networks. As one of the German partners, DKRZ participates and contributes the requirements of climate modeling, especially for the areas of data search and persistent identifiers.
