In the initial phase of the natESM project, a new service was established for the Earth system modelling community, focusing on adapting individual simulation components to modern supercomputers. The second phase of the project aims to integrate machine learning, facilitate access to model configurations, and improve data handling and collaboration within the community. Support for adapting existing models to new HPC infrastructures and technical support for new model configurations will continue. The main objective of the project is to develop a leading ESM system that supports a broad user base.
