CMIP6 is the sixth phase of the international Coupled Model Intercomparison Project. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the German contribution to CMIP6 in two subprojects (consortia): CMIP6-DICAD (providing the national contribution to the IPCC/AR6 database and supporting CMIP6+ activities in Germany) and CMIP6-Chemie (supporting the current and future national contribution to IPCC/AR6 with focus on atmospheric chemistry). DKRZ is involved with one of four subprojects in the CMIP6-DICAD network (subproject 1: Establishment and operation of the national CMIP6 data archive and an infrastructure for data quality assurance).
