Many of the contributions were based on results of the BMBF-funded project HD(CP)², which addressed the formation of clouds and precipitation and within which particularly high-resolution regional simulations and measurements were carried out.

Other contributions dealt with the ultra-high-resolution global modeling performed within the framework of the DYAMOND initiative (DYnamics of the Atmospheric General Circulation Modeled On Non-hydrostatic Domains) with respect to a model comparison to which currently nine groups contributed their models.

DYAMOND is inter alia supported by ESiWACE, the "Center of Excellence in Simulation of Weather and Climate in Europe", which is coordinated by DKRZ.

The DKRZ supplemented the scientific poster exhibition at the UCP by presenting interactive and pre-produced visualizations of HD(CP)² and of DYAMOND simulations on its interactive 4K touch-screen.
