The summer school aims to bring together young researchers from the fields of mathematics, computer science, and geosciences with software engineers who are interested in the current technological developments in the field of climate modeling.
In lectures and practical sessions, experts will introduce basic high-performance computing (HPC) skills in weather and climate modeling. Participants will also have the opportunity to manage, visualise and analyse data from earth model systems themselves.
The goal is to provide participants with a basic understanding of modern climate and weather modeling and practical experience in handling climate model data.
