From October 9 to 12, 2023, 60 participants took part in the 5th online course for beginners organized by DKRZ. After a general introduction to Linux, Jupyterhub, notebooks and Python, working with the Python packages NumPy, Xarray, Matplotlib and Cartopy was taught. Through interactive work, the participants were able to deepen their freshly acquired knowledge and received direct support from the training team Ralf Müller, Marco Kulüke, Dr. Angelika Heil, Karin Meier-Fleischer (DKRZ) and Jannek Squar (UniHH/WR) when questions arose. Due to continued demand and positive course feedback, the next beginner course will be held in March 2024. In addition, other shorter modular course units for advanced students will be offered in the foreseeable future.
