Under the motto "A Day in Climate Research," we put together a diverse program for you from 9 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m. You'll gain real insight into the daily work of climate researchers and learn how modern climate research works.
What to expect:
- Discover how climate models simulate processes in the atmosphere and ocean
- Understand why researchers need supercomputers to run climate models
- Visit the supercomputer and the data archives at the German Climate Computing Center (DKRZ)
- Experience on the climate globe how ocean currents flow, clouds move – and what happens when you even "switch off" the sun in simulations
- Meet real climate researchers and ask them all about their job, their daily routine, and their research
- ...and much more.
Becoming curious?
If you are at least 12 years old and would like to experience climate research firsthand for a day, then sign up! There are currently only 3 places left for girls.
