In the context of EUDAT2020, a European data infrastructure supporting the whole data life cycle in the scientific workflow of various disciplines is being developed. On the basis of analyzing and combining already existing data infrastructures of different research communities, a unified interface and access to European research data is planned to be deployed.

The DKRZ and two other ENES partners (the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology and CERFACS) are already active in the area of climate data infrastructures. Especially the CMIP5/CORDEX data federation is an important contribution of the ENES community to EUDAT.

In the course of this project, DKRZ develops a data catalogue (B2FIND) and integrates persistent identifiers (PIDs) into the EUDAT2020 infrastructure.
