On its booth DKRZ presents the latest high resolution climate simulations that have been calculated on DKRZ’s high performance computing system for earth system science “Mistral”. DKRZ regularly supports extensive simulations within the frame of the international coupled model intercomparison project (CMIP), which produce enormous amounts of data. DKRZ presents its data services on the example of CMIP-5 and gives a preview in the planned calculations for CMIP-6.

As the project coordinator, DKRZ gives information about the European excellence center for weather and climate research ESiWACE. And at the DKRZ booth there will be information available about the newly founded cooperation with JAMSTEC, the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology.

Dr. Julian Kunkel chairs two of the numerous Birds-of-Feather (BoF) sessions: on the 16th November focusing on „Analyzing Parallel I/O” and on 17th November on the issue of „The Virtual Institute for I/O and the IO-500“. Furthermore he presents jointly with Eugen Betke and Jakob Lüttgau two posters at the poster exhibition of SC’16. Dr. Julian Kunkel and Christian Hovy jointly submitted the paper „Towards Automatic and Flexible Unit Test Generation for Legacy HPC Code“ for the SE-HPCCSE16 workshop.
