Performance tuning is the improvement of code to enable faster runtime. Typically for HPC systems it is done in a measure-evaluate-improve-test cycle which allows gradual improvements. Another crucial point is debugging of code - either if bugs are introduced by optimization or by new code development.

CodeTuningCycle

DKRZ serves its users with tools and support in all steps of the (infinite) performance tuning cycle to get the best out of climate codes on large scale HPC systems.

Debugging How to find and resolve defects or problems within the code to finally get correct results.
