Mistral on rank 38 of TOP500 list

Jun 22, 2017: The latest TOP500 list of the world's most powerful supercomputers was published during the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC’17), which took place in Frankfurt from 19th till 22nd June. The supercomputer Mistral at DKRZ is listed on rank 38 of the list and is currently the third most powerful HPC system in Germany. DKRZ will again contribute to the program of the ISC'17 – one of the most important international events for High Performance Computing.

May 11, 2017: Almost 14,500 attendees from more than one hundred countries came together at the annual meeting of the European Geosciences Union (EGU), which took place from 23rd until 28th April 2017 in Vienna/Austria. Scientists presented their work and projects in about 6,000 orals and PICO presentations as well as in more than 11,000 poster contributions. DKRZ employees participated with various activities to the EGU program.

SeaDataCloud Kickoff

Dec 12, 2016: From 28th to 30th of November 2016 the kickoff meeting of the Horizon2020 project SeaDataCloud took place in Riga. One focus of this project, involving 55 partners from 34 countries, is the further development of existing services and standards for research data from the SeaDataNet network, in which more than hundred oceanographic data centers have been organized.

Workshop des Schulprojekts Klimawandel statt. Vor fast 250 Oberstufen-Schülerinnen und -Schülern, Lehrkräften und Unterstützern des Projekts sowie den Vertretern des Projektteams trugen Schülergruppen von vier Schulen in Schleswig-Holstein ihre Ausarbeitungen über selbstgewählte Themen zum Klimawandel vor.

Mistral on rank 33 of the TOP500-list

Jun 20, 2016: The latest TOP500 list of supercomputers was released this morning (20th June) during the opening to the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC), which takes place in Frankfurt, Germany, from 19th to 23rd June 2016. With a peak performance of 3.14 PetaFLOPS, the final stage of DKRZ’ system Mistral is listed on rank 33. Within Germany it is at the moment the fifth largest HPC system.
