Hamburg, 13. Juli 2015: Bull, die Atos Marke für Technologieprodukte und Software, gab heute die Finalisierung der ersten Ausbaustufe des neuen Supercomputers „Mistral“ im Deutschen Klimarechenzentrum (DKRZ) bekannt, basierend auf Intel® Xeon® E5-2680 v3 Prozessoren. Mit 50 Petabyte Speicherplatz, genug um mehr als zehn Millionen Spielfilme zu speichern, und mit einer Rechenleistung von drei Billiarden Rechenoperationen pro Sekunde wird er in der Endausbaustufe ab Sommer 2016 einer der leistungsfähigsten und darüber hinaus gleichzeitig energieeffizientesten Supercomputer weltweit sein, der nur für Klimasimulationen eingesetzt wird.
