2nd DYAMOND-ESiWACE Hackathon

Jul 02, 2019

Due to the success of its first edition in August 2018, a second hackathon was organised on 19-21 June 2019 in Mainz to process the global high-resolution data from DYAMOND model runs.

After a one-day workshop at which the models and related topics were presented and discussed, the 50 participants from Europe, USA, Japan and China worked in groups to address various scientific questions, including the investigation of extreme precipitation or of the vertical structure of the general circulation. Results from the hackathon shall be published as part of a special issue on DYAMOND in the Journal of the Meteorological Society of Japan.
