To its users, DKRZ offers access to a high end visualization server system as well as help and support with the visualization of data - especially in respect to techniques going beyond standard graphics.

The DKRZ Visualization Server is primarily intended for the interactive visual analysis of 3D time dependent model data. By using the remote 3D rendering solution HP Remote Graphics (HP RGS), the system can interactively be used over the internet - without the need to be physically present at DKRZ.
- On the DKRZ visualization server, we offer the commercial solution Avizo for the interactive 3D data visualization. We have developed a Tutorial on Interactive 3D-Visualization in Earth System Research with Avizo and XGreen Pack (18 MB) in order to help you get started.

- Avizo has nice built in capabilities for creating Animations. For other visualization solutions, you may want to have a look at our hints on Animations (German only).

At the DKRZ Visualization- and Videolab animations can be recorded either in real time or using the single frame technique. Here we have also the equipment for the stereoscopic visualization of complex 3-D data sets.

The Videos , which had been produced at DKRZ, cover methods and results of climate research and the visualization of climate data. The videos can be ordered in VHS format for EUR 10.- plus shipping costs.
