Acces for external Users

Please follow the steps below if a project wants to place data into the long term archive (LTA) at DKRZ:

1) The master user or the project manager contacts DKRZ user support to initiate the archiving process providing the following data:

  - name ot the user

  - project name

  - institutes data (name, address, mail, phone)

  - project contact (name, address, mail, phone)

  - list of data with required space

  - additional project information

2) Data granularity:

The DKRZ makes proposals for the best storage granularity of the data. Additional processing could be possible to satisfy the agreed storage type.

Processing could be:

  * building new mean values

  * creating time series by concatenation of existing data

  *  process data towards new layer

!!Important: No data will be changed at all by any of the processing steps. Only new or addtional grouping is done.

5) Data are processed if needed. After the confirmation and upload of metadata into the CERA database the upload of the processed data itself takes place.

6) The final check of metadata and data is done by DKRZ datamanagment (technically) and the user (content).

7) There will be a notification once the data has been uploaded into the LTA and the metadata has been published within CERA.

!!!Important: Metadata will be publical and available on the internet, all data will be freely accessible for people with CERA account under the polocy of the WDCC.

The DKRZ department 'Datamangement' will guide you through the complete process and will make recommendations for any upcoming questions (e.g. archiving format etc.) during the archiving process.
