Visualization server
DKRZ provides its users with access to a visualization cluster for interactive 3D visualization of climate simulation data.
The heterogeneous system consists of 8 visualization nodes and one SMP visualization node. Since the supercomputer's GPFS filesystem is mounted over a powerful network (10 GE), the model data can be directly visualized.
With the help of a remote 3D rendering solution (VirtualGL or HP Remote Graphics), the system is accessible for authorized users from any workstation over the Internet.
